South Calcutta Law College reopens today, Monday, July 7, following the gangrape incident reported on June 25. The institution is to operate under restricted hours from 8 AM to 2 PM, as permitted by the Joint Commissioner of Kolkata Police. Only teachers and non-teaching staff are allowed during this period. After 2 PM, the permanent guard inspects the entire campus before closing the premises, including the main gate.
First-semester students report today between 10 AM and 12 PM for form fill-up and examination-related procedures. They are required to bring their college ID cards and all necessary documents. For students of other semesters, the schedule is fixed: fourth-semester students on July 8 (Tuesday), sixth-semester on July 9 (Wednesday), and eighth-semester Honours and General students on July 10 (Thursday), all with valid ID cards.
The college issued strict instructions that no individual is allowed entry without a proper college ID. Access is permitted only for specific academic or official purposes. Unauthorised entry is strictly prohibited under the revised rules implemented by the authorities.
